Discombobulation

Holly, Dolly, and Molly sifted through the piles of old belongings in a few trunks in the attic; they began to feel discombobulated. There were so many mysteries up here that needed solving. What was in that old chest in the corner? What was the story behind that faded photograph on the wall?

They spent hours up there, piecing together the stories of their grandmother's life and the generations that had come before her. They found old letters, journals, and mementos that gave them a glimpse into a world long gone. But as they delved deeper into the mysteries of the attic, they began to feel a sense of unease. There were strange symbols etched into the walls, and eerie creaks and moans could be heard coming from the rafters. Suddenly, the girls heard the sound of their grandmother's car pulling up in the driveway. Panicking, they hastily tried to put everything back where they had found it, but it was too late. Their grandmother caught them red-handed, surrounded by the relics of her past.

She scolded them sternly, but deep down she was touched by their curiosity and love for her history. She even began to share some of her own stories with them, helping to solve some of the mysteries that had been puzzling the girls. As they left the attic, Holly, Dolly, and Molly couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. They had uncovered some of the secrets of their grandmother's past, and in doing so, had come to understand her and their family a little more... there are hundreds of books and journals, and trunks, everywhere they look in the attic.

Nooks and Crannies

One nook, one cranny at a time!

The sisters obeyed and went to their room. They shared a large bedroom with three beds and a window that overlooked the garden. They unpacked their bags and tried to sleep, but they couldn't. They missed their father and worried about their mother, who had locked herself in her room and refused to talk to anyone.

They decided to sneak out of their room and look for clues about their parents. They tiptoed down the hallway and climbed up the stairs to the attic. They pushed open the door and entered a dusty and cluttered space that was filled with trunks, journals, toys, furniture and so much more!

They felt a surge of curiosity and excitement as they explored the attic. They found old photos of their parents when they were young, letters from their father to their mother, books about history and magic, maps of different countries, costumes and masks, dolls and puppets, musical instruments and paintings.

They also found a secret passage behind a bookshelf that led to another room. It was smaller and darker than the attic, but it had more mysterious items: candles and crystals, herbs and potions, runes and symbols, scrolls and spells.

They realized that this was where their grandmother practiced her witchcraft. They knew she was a witch because she had told them once when they were little. She said she came from a long line of witches who had special powers and secrets. She said she would teach them when they were older, but they had to keep it a secret from everyone else.

The sisters wondered if their parents also knew about witchcraft or if they had anything to do with it. They wondered if that was why their father had gone missing or why they had to leave their home. They wondered if there was a way to find out the truth or to bring him back.

They decided to look for answers in the scrolls and spells. They found one that said: "To find what is lost, you must seek what is hidden. One nook, one cranny at a time." They thought it meant that they had to search every corner of the house for clues.

They agreed to do it together. They lit a candle and held hands. They whispered the spell and felt a warm breeze blow through the room. They felt a tingling sensation in their fingers and toes.

They knew they had activated the spell.

They knew they had started their adventure.

They knew they would find their parents.

One nook, one cranny at a time.
