The Cowboy

Chester loved cowboys. He watched cowboy movies, read cowboy books and played cowboy games. He dreamed of becoming a cowboy someday. He wanted to ride a horse, wear a hat and boots, and shoot a gun.

He wished he had a real cowboy outfit and a cap gun. He had seen them in the toy store. He hoped he would get them for his birthday.

His birthday was on Saturday. He woke up early and ran downstairs. He saw his parents and his little sister waiting for him in the living room. They had a big smile on their faces and a wrapped present on the table.

They wished him a happy birthday and hugged him. They told him to open his present. Chester was excited and nervous. He hoped it was what he wanted.

He tore off the wrapping paper and opened the box. He gasped in amazement. His wish had come true!

Inside the box, there was a cap gun and holster and a cowboy hat! They were exactly like the ones he had seen in the toy store. They looked real and cool.

He couldn't believe his eyes. He thanked his parents and his sister for the best present ever. They said they were happy to make him happy. They said they had saved up some money to buy him what he wanted.

They helped him put on his cowboy outfit and his cap gun. They gave him some caps and told him to be careful with them. They said he could play with them outside, but not inside the house.

Chester felt like a real cowboy. He put on his hat and adjusted his holster. He loaded his cap gun and cocked it. He felt a thrill as he heard the click.

He ran outside to play. He pretended he was in the Wild West. He rode his bike as if it was a horse. He shot his cap gun at imaginary outlaws and bandits. He made loud noises and shouted "Yee-haw!"

He had so much fun. He felt free and brave. He felt like he could do anything.

He played until it was dark. He came back inside and ate his birthday cake with his family. They sang him happy birthday and gave him more hugs.

He went to bed with a smile on his face. He put his cowboy hat and cap gun next to his pillow. He thanked his parents and his sister again for the best birthday ever.

He closed his eyes and dreamed of being a cowboy someday.
